Deep and Meaningful Novel. Reaches Across All Genres An affirmation that JOY can come after deep mourningA smart, thought provoking read. Air Force Fighter Pilot Ted Foley and Alabamian Emily Ann Meade are on a collision course of their souls. Part love story, part thriller, YOUR GIFT TO ME is original and fresh. One second I had goosebumps from head to toe, the next I was slapping my knee and laughing out loud.Early in the book, Emily, a former investigative journalist and Air Force widow, says [...]

This is the first book I have read by Ms. Latino and Bob Vale. I was very impressed with their writing style, character development and story line. The romantic development between Emily and Ted was poignantly beautiful especially in the way they helped each other cope with the grief of the loss of their first spouses. Their use of imagery to give themselves a place of peace was beautifully written. Look forward to reading another book from this writing team.

Although YOUR GIFT TO ME by Bonnie B Latino and Bob Vale is classified as a military romance, this book breaks the boundaries of genre. It’s not what anyone would expect to find when searching the bookstore shelves for a romance novel or a warrior’s tale. This is a love story that will resonate with anyone who lives in a dangerous world. Those in the military and all whose work takes them where life is virtually all about Life and Death will understand the implications inherent in these page [...]

I just finished reading this book and found it to be an excellent read. It is a love story but not your typical romance. This is a story that deals with love, death, grief, faith, and redemption. There is also a wonderful under current of suspense. The characters are well-developed and multi-dementional. The setting is military life in Hawaii and the attention to military detail and knowledge is intriguing. This wonderful book hits on all levels. I highly recommend it.

Bonnie Bartel Latino and Bob Vale have teamed up to write a first-rate novel of romance and the military entitled Your Gift to Me. It will take you away to Emily and Ted’s imaginary pagoda to revel in their budding love story. ““…we have to be careful. Once we create this house with identical images in our minds,” he stroked the center of her forehead, “our home will forever be a part of both of us. You understand?”” Both Emily and Ted have lost their respective spouses and are g [...]

In this current yet timeless story recent widower and Air Force fighter pilot Ted Foley falls for a journalist who also happens to be the widow of a fallen fighter pilot. After ten –years, Emily Meade was still trying to make it through the night before being consumed by her own grief and panic attacks. She had no intentions, of giving her broken heart to anyone, especially not another flyer. This is not just a military love story. There is mystery and suspense. Emily’s off the wall next- door [...]

This was such a painful book to get through. Where do I begin? First, I understand that Emily is this "strong willed" and very smart character so I found it hard to believe that she is experiencing such severe PTSD TEN YEARS LATER. Really?? And the stuttering after a nightmare was ridiculous. Tom (or whatever his name) said she had a lot emotional baggage from her husbands death but she was quite forward physically quickly (touching him, holding hands). I think someone would be more reserved and [...]

Having picked up this book for the first time last week (despite having grown up around the writing process-I wanted to wait to read the finished product), I am actually a little angry with the authors for not forcing me to read this sooner. This book crosses genre lines and finds a way to appeal to the deeper humanity in anyone. The common themes of grief, hope, fear, and love that run intertwined both through the characters' heads and the book's prose paint a vivid picture of lives destroyed a [...]

As a military wife, this book really hit home. The author captures what it really feels like to be married to someone you are sending off to battle, never to know if they will return or not. It is hard to explain the roller-coaster of emotions that one feels during a deployment, not to mention the dreaded car appearing in your driveway to give you bad news. The author eloquently puts this into words, beginning with the very first chapter. This is a wonderful book for anyone, not just someone who [...]

This was a touching book of love lost and found. As a military spouse myself this really touched home in a lot of ways. There is always the threat of your loved one never making it back to you and what you would do if that did happen. The story of Emily was so heartfelt and warm I really felt myself turning the pages to see what would happen next. When she meets Ted she convinces herself she won't fall for him because he does the same thing her husband did. Flies fighter planes. The way the auth [...]

After finishing this book I'm still a little trouble to rate it. Even though the story of Emily and Ted was a really romantic "take your time to build love confidence trust and passion" the story was long for my taste and the little extra natural twist that was added to their love story was too much for my taste. So for the writing and some parts of the story I will give it a 4 stars but for the overall story I will give it a 3 stars

How do you move past grief and find love again? That's more or less what the main characters needed to deal with in this book. I got the book because I wanted something different than what I've been reading and was pleasantly surprised with this choice. the flow of this book was good, enjoyed the characters.

The best romance I have read in a long while, filled with love, loss, healing and several characters to fall in love with. Next door neighbor and best friend to Emily, N'awlins, with her flamboyant persona and scrambled sayings is a the comedic lift needed to keep things light.

Beautiful descriptive writing, but far too long and boring for me. Really struggled to finish and ended up browsing through the last half of the books pages just to read the predictable ending.Almost made my did not finish list.

Well, wow is all I can say. Really great, sweet story and free when I got it as well. What a great peek into military life.

Quick, easy read that held my attention but not really my imagination. It's one of those sweet love stories with the predictable ending that you want.
