needed a book set in belize. was suppose to be a destination wedding story. instead a whiny teenager a man trying to justify his love life and amom having a midlife crisis.

This is a story about characters. What I liked about this book was three things a) the story vacillates between current events (destination wedding in Belize) and flashbacks, done in italics and for pages at a time, which gives us depth of the story and the backdrop for the drama, and each time we unfold something that makes the current events make more sense; b) the backdrop of Belize is fun and is was nice to visualize it for a bit of escapism from my current not-tropical locale; and c) some o [...]

I liked this book because it was in Belize and I love travel books. The book was a nice beach read. I just didn't like two of the main characters Dan and Abby. Dan was a huge jerk and Abby a huge spoiled brat and I felt like the author tried to add some depth to her, but I didn't feel it. I wish we could have seen things through more important people in the novel like maybe the bride and groom. Other than that I though many parts of the book were really funny and it made me want to go to Belize [...]

I like how the story was told by three different players in the wedding party - and how I didn't necessarily like any of them! There was a little bit TMI when it came to a case of a stomach bug. But otherwise, it was a fun read. I really like watching Alice discover more about herself and seeing relationships as seen by different people. Makes me want to go to Belize, too.

This was a great beach read, with a really eclectic cast of characters. I enjoy stories told from different angles, but this book was told through so many perspectives, it could become a little frustrating, because I would wonder what the other characters were up to. The premise is a destination wedding that involves a rock band (the lead singer and guitarist get hitched in Belize).

Sometimes when books are so chopped up like this; I find it very easy to put them aside. This was one of those. I must have started this back in winter. It's like a collection of short stories rather then a novel. I did finish it and enjoyed it okay. Not rocket science

She wanted to write a book for grown ups instead of teens, but I may be too old. I enjoyed it, but not a lot of plot and energy. A new author for me as an adult reader, familiar with her works through my students, thought I would give her a shot. Done

This book was longer than it should have been. It had a good premise, but the characters seemed one-dimensional.

A light, easy read. Perfect for the beach with a drink in hand. Doesn't take itself too seriously and you shouldn't, either.
