I received a copy of this book from Inked Rainbow Reads in exchange for an honest review. This was an interesting read. I had a couple of problems with a few technical things in the plot, but on the whole, I liked the characters, the plot, and the conflicts our heroines had to overcome. I had a problem with the flashbacks of Ari's story. It makes sense to do it, because her story starts chronologically so much earlier than Chase and Mara's beginning. But even the flashbacks of Ari's story seem di [...]

I would very much like to see a sequel.I don't even remember how I came upon this book, though I reckon it was likely a long train of recommendations. This was almost a five star book. So close. The characters seemed to develop out of nowhere. The 150 odd pages were, I think, simply not enough to develop the characters Diana Jean created here, because the characters were great. There's so much potential there, it would have been nice to have seen it dug out a bit more. That said, I enjoyed the va [...]

There are some good parts of this, and I'm interested in the world that Jean has created. But honestly, I think it needed some editing. I kept getting confused because of the shifting time in Ari's point of view about who knew what. Also, some of the dialogue came out very forced. It was kind of infodumpy and so it made it awkward. Overall, a good read though.

I have to go along with many of the others who commented on this title. It's more a rough draft than a completed novel or novella. It has such potential. I think a good editor and a couple of rewrites could improve it dramatically.
