It has depth, history, research was done and very well written. I had not read Kevin's books before, but I will do as i always do when i find an au [...]

Best Thriller I've Read in a Long Time!!!Kevin Tumlinson did it successfully!! He wrote a thriller that will keep you engrossed from the beginning and leave you wanting more when your done. This thriller is written by an author who has never written one before. He is one of the best sci-fi writers out there. I've read a lot of them and they were all 5 star. It's amazing how he switched genres like he has been writing thrillers all along. And for it to be a 5 star all the way. I'm not going to go [...]

*I requested and was graciously granted a copy of this audio book for an honest review*This was super cool! The adventure and science that went into the story of discovering new things and places kept me hooked. The characters were well written and made me care what happened to them (even in the cases I was really hoping for pain and suffering), and I wanted to read more about them. Seriously, all in all, this was really a great story, I really enjoyed it and would totally watch a movie about it [...]

Out of the box and solo archeologist has is investigating the idea that the Vikings reached the American continent well before Columbus. Using clues from a medallion discovered in a Pueblo site he is advancing his theory. When the medallion is discovered stolen from a museum and his good friend and friend collaborator is kidnapped he sets out to find and rescue her only to become embroiled in several overlapping plots to discover "the city of gold" and to use a newly discovered underground river [...]

I haven’t read many thriller novels before. About 20 years ago, I went through a period where I was reading as much Stephen King and Dean Koontz as I could, but that only lasted for a short while. Other than the books by those two, I don’t think I’ve read anything else that could be classified as a thriller. That is until recently, when I read The Coelho Medallion by Kevin Tumlinson. It’s an action thriller that follows the adventures of Daniel Kotler. When his colleague and former girl [...]

An action-packed thrill ride from beginning to endA medallion has been discovered that could rewrite American history and shock the research community to its core. While this is happening, a group of terrorists are also after the same artifacts that have been recently discovered and their reasoning is completely lost on everyone including the FBI. Dan Kotler is a researcher and a jack-of-all-trades looking into this recent change in historical fact when he stumbles across the real reason for the [...]

The Coelho Medallion is the 10th of Kevin's books I've read, and I've enjoyed each and every one. He describes his characters well, so that the reader becomes involved emotionally with both the good and the bad ones, anxious to learn their fate. His plots and sub-plots guide the characters through the many twists and turns. I felt like I was being pulled along in the plot's currents.Dan Kotler is the primary, well fleshed out character. His good friend, Dr. Eloi Coelho, finds a rare, unique and [...]

When I read the description about modern day archeologists discovering evidence of Vikings in the U.S I knew I had to read this novel. I admit I was immediately smitten with Dr. Daniel Kotler. Not because he is independently wealthy, but because he's brilliant, with multiple PhDs. I was less interested in his relationship with Dr. Evelyn Horelica than with his brewing bromance with Agent Denzel. With the FBI, DEA, terrorists, greedy and evil men, and, of course, the good guys, this is a good thr [...]

I was hooked at the idea of Vikings roving all the way to Colorado, and the action and adventure never stopped. Does this make it speculative fiction? And I rubbed my hands with glee over the issues involving one of the feds (skirting the spoiler problem here). In fact, the only problem I had was a vignette at the beginning that was never really addressed later on. Otherwise it was a real brain grabber.Loved Richard Reiman's audio interpretation of the plethora of male characters, it was a tough [...]

This is Kevin's first foray into the thriller genre and I hope it won't be his last. After the introduction of our protagonist in The Brass Hall, we find Dan being arrested by the FBI and then released to help them uncover what the bad guys are after, throw into this mix of archeology, Vikings, Native American Tribes, the DEA , a kidnapped friend and corrupt officials and some great chases and you have a sold gold winnerA great start and looking forward to many more.

I absolutely enjoyed this book. Great plot and suspense. The characters were nicely developed and the pace was just right. I like the feel of a modern day Indiana Jones story; this was excellent. This goes further, however, triggering ideas and real-life implications for today. I've already bought the next installment and look forward to more Dan Kotler adventures in the Atlantis Riddle.

I really loved this and the alternate take on history. Very imaginative, well written, fleshed out characters & a few names pay homage to some amazing actors! I will definitely be looking for more by Kevin.Great narration too! I was voluntarily provided this review copy at no charge by the author, publisher and or narrator

Audible:A medallion is unearthed and put on display. It is stolen and the intrigue starts. It brings into question the true origins of our United States.A fast paced thriller with some twists you just cant work around.RichardRieman was a fine narrator.“I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher.”

Loved itI felt like Indiana Jones time travelled to the 21st century. Characters were described well and the story line was easy to follow in spite of the spelling and grammatical errors. I am going on to read the next one in the series I bought. Thanks for the heads up on these books

An action packed story of a well educated and travelled archeologist who is taken for questioning by the FBI of a missing colleague. This tale of a high stakes archeology site, a missing medallion and terror attacks in western America keeps the reader hooked from beginning to end.

Fantastic StoryMr. Tomlinson has written a superb novel. The main characters are unique and fun to follow and the story is well thought out and a thrilling ride. I love how the author mixes an exciting thriller with historical mysteries. I highly recommend this book.

Super twists and turns skillfully woven together in this archeological thriller. Kevin Tumlinson's The Coelho Medallion is a masterful puzzle in this series first bringing together Kotler, wealthy archeologist (and much more) and Denzel of the FBI. Can't wait to read books 2 and 3.

Kevin Tumlinson gives us a fabulous story that will keep you on the edge of your seat and pulls you right into the story. That is a sign of a fabulous writer!!!

A good readI enjoyed reading this book. It had plenty of action and some uncertain twists as well . I look forward to reading more of this authors novels.

This is my review of the audiobook (a slightly altered version of the review I posted on audible:)) - I received it from the narrator in return for an honest review. As this was my first book by Kevin Tumlinson, I did not have any particular expectations - I just thought it could be interesting judging from the blurb And I have to say it is:)I like the storyline; there are many twists and turns in the plot, the characters are distinctive and likeable, but the best part is the mixture of two compl [...]

My first read from author Kevin Tumlinson. Reminiscent in some ways of Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child’s Thunderhead and Preston’s Tyrannosaur Canyon. The Coelho Medallion combines aspects of archaeology and mystery into a spell binding tale of a stolen medallion, a kidnapping, the mythical City of Gold and the Vikings. No more spoilers here. Since I own both the Kindle and the Audible versions I was able to follow along while enjoying the narration.

A Thriller That is Easy to ReadToo many thriller authors can make their mysteries so complicated you lose track of sub plots and characters and story threads. This book is suspenseful without giving you s headache. It incorporates just enough, fantasy with well grounded plots to make you feel that every crazy twist is plausible. It isn’t heavy but entertaining. I loved this book!

I FOUND A FANTASTIC "NEW" AUTHOR!!! YAY!!!One of the BEST THRILLERS I have ever read. I am SO GLAD I found this author, he is AWESOME!! And he writes a LOT, so that is good too!If you like edge of your seat action, with smart, witty, bold and nobly foolish. This is your series!! I love it!! Never boring, and JUST a warning? When you pick this book up, be prepared to have enough time to finish it. You will not want to put it down. You've been warned!!

I'm a bit torn on what to rate this book. It's a good story although it pushed the limits a plausibility a few too many times for me. I liked the characters but I felt some of them were only partially developed. Also, the plot seemed to take a big leap a time or two. It's good enough that I plan to read the rest of the series and see how it goes.

Great bookI was reading his 4th book and in the story line something important came up and it was connected to this book stopped reading the other one and read this one. Good plot and story line.

PuzzlerI loved the puzzle presented by the city of gold and the chance to be a part of the story by trying to solve what it could mean. Kotler, the main character, is someone I would love to sit down with to hear his stories. I can't wait to read the next one!

Archaeological thrillerI really enjoyed this book. Somewhere along the lines of Dan Brown or James Rollins genre, it fits well. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys an archaeological thriller. Kevin Tumlinson is one of my new favorite authors
